was going around visiting for cny today,when something really struck me quite hard.
it's depressing to see people around you grow up and change,to lose that child-like innocence once they get exposed to the reality around them.you feel sad,like you've lost the only best friend you've had.you move on,trying that very hard,to find new friends around you,and through all those rejections,all those obstacles,you do find new friends.but you look back,aren't you one of those who lost exactly the same things as well?it's difficult to realise that you've lost that childhood that you could have,that ability to be completely blunt and honest without having to feel the creeping glow of embarassment on your face when you spell out the truth,to have the ability to tell a person 'i don't like you' straight out in their face without having to suffer consequences,(maybe the loss of a sweet or something),and the help of people when you fall down and can't get up.especially the completely innate knowledge of knowing your parents do in actual fact love you with all their heart.
once we've grown up,we lose all that.the ability to be tactless,the best friends you had as a child,the childishness you were once entitled to,the short-term memories we had,the encouragement we received from people to re-face obstacles all over once again.and especially the innate knowledge that our parents love us.we somehow get a curtain shut over our eyes when it comes to all these as we grow up.we fail to be able to honest,to be able to tell our backstabbers 'i don't really like you',to be able to tell our parents unabashedly that we love them.
why is it,the older we get,the stupider and blinder we are to things?
